I left Denali RV Park and Motel at 07:45AM. Temperatures were in the low 50’s with lots of clouds.

The weather got worse and the clouds were low and thick. There was no view of Mt. McKinley at any of the rest stops along Alaska Highway 3 south.

I stopped at the Alaska Veterans Memorial for 15 minutes for some pictures.

The weather got worse and there was light rain all the way to Talkeetna.

I arrived at Talkeetna Camper Park at 11:05AM. 50amp E/W/S. In the tress so satellite Internet and DirecTV would not work. The Park Wi-Fi was weak and I was quite close to the office. Showers are pay but not sure of the cost; however, an individual came in to buy a token for the shower and was asked if he was staying at the park and he said no. I take it that they charge less for RV Park patrons but I did not ask.

As soon as I got hooked up I drove over to the Talkeetna Air Taxi to talk to them about my flight around Mt. McKinley tomorrow with a glacier landing. They said one flight went out this morning but had to come back because of the cloud cover.

I took a quick drive through town to see what it is like – lots of little shops just waiting to take your money. I drove back out to the intersection of Alaska Highway 3 and Talkeetna Spur Road to the IGA grocery store.

It continued to rain into the evening with the temperature right around 60 degrees most of the day.

159.5 RV miles today – 3 hours and 5 minutes driving time.

31.7 SUV miles today.
