Fist things first. Shirley went to the Sunrise service and we both went to the 9:30 Easter service at the Hot Springs First UMC then we bought some groceries and THEN we went for a hike. We were all prepared, had our water, hats, walkin' shoes, camera. cellphones and bug spray. We chose our paths well with the goal to get to the Mountain Tower with awesome views of the National Park and its environs. You know those maps are deceiving...well it looks like a short distance. We are on a mountain BUT there are higher mountain tops. We were going along the creek nice and easy then we took the short cut trail UP the mountain. We knew we were on a challenging path when we hit the fourth switchback. We made it however and the scenery was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Once we finished with the Mountain Tower we were very close to town so we walked into Hot Springs and had a soda (or pop to some of you). Then we looked at the map and found a gentle way back to camp. All told our hike was four hours and 15 minutes. It was great exercise. Heavy rain last night and still raining for all of today. Not sure if we are moving on but we put the camper on the big honkin' dually and we are set to go. All is dry. Enjoy the pics.
