Warren and I have had a love fest with Chiang Mai.
So much so that we decided to divert from the group for 2 days to stay in Chiang Mai and catch up with them again in Laos.
During our day 1 with the Gap Group we visited a hill top temple with a spectacular view of the mountains of Northern Thailand. We also went to an elephant camp where we rode and learned about the Asian elephants. Back in town, we had a dinner in the old town, visited the night market and I enjoyed a great Thai foot massage.
On day 2, Warren and I wandered around Chiang Mai which included riverside lunches and dinners, the purchasing of custom made suits (already on their way home to us) & yes, visited more beautiful temples.
Day 3, we went on a northern trek -- visited the Long Neck hill tribe, orchard farm, another elephant reserve, did white water rafting as well as bamboo rafting (Warren was a great raft captain). To top things off, we viewed a kick boxing match on our last evening there.
Three incredibly filled days of exploration, learning & once in a lifetime experiences.
Love to all.
