|Since we didn't need to be out of our campsite until one o'clock we took advantage of the nice breezy morning and early afternoon to do some bike sightseeing. We rode about 4 miles to the main area of the Myakka River State Park where we hopped an air boat to tour the lake and wildlife. Believe it or not, this air boat had a auto engine with mufflers and it was very quiet. We saw our first feral pigs along with more alligators and a wide variety of birds. It was a very nice hour. On our way back to the campground to pack up we took a hike on the canopy trail and surprise there was a hammock sky way that was above the trees. You could see for miles. Then we headed to another park, this one a fast pitch softball park. Our grand niece Payton's high school team is in the playoffs and they hosted this game at their field. What an exciting ballgame! At one point her team trailed 6-0. Durant High tied the game in the bottom of the 6th. Gave up a run to East Lake in the top of the 7th and now trailed 7-6. With two out and two on the last hope for Durant popped up foul to the first base lady. Game over.......but wait, she dropped the ball!! The next pitch was hit over the fence for a 3 run homer and a 9-7 win! So Payton's team goes on to play again in the looser goes home state playoffs. She played 2nd base and did very well going one for 3 and making all the plays. We love going to her games. As I write, we are again with Don and Jeanne (you'd think they'd get tired of us). Shirley heads off to Elmira NY tomorrow for a surprise 83rd birthday party for her Mom in Sayer PA. She'll be gone 4 days. Somehow I'll survive here at Disney's Ft. Wilderness campground. Enjoy the pics.
