Harbour Hopper

Another wonderful day! We drove downtown and enjoyed walking the docks of Halifax. We took the Harbour Hopper tour, which is an amphibious military vehicle from the Vietnam war that has been refitted for touring. There were 900 of them made originally at a million dollars each for the military. We had taken a similar tour in Boston and found it very interesting. We were told half of Canada's navy is stationed here at Halifax, and the other half in Vancouver. That puts six ships at each port, if they are not at sea.

The campground ( Shubie ) here in Dartmouth is very convenient for visiting Halifax. It takes us about 15 minutes to get to downtown Halifax, which includes a $2.75 bridge crossing. I got the oil changed in the truck, so we are ready to head for home. We have enjoyed a wonderful time traveling with Norm and Ria. They have been perfect travel companions. Tomorrow they move on to tour PEI and we head for home. It has been a blast.
