arriving at St. Jphns

at Pippy Park

lots of trees, no satellite tv, and no wifi

Today we drove to the centre of Newfoundland, not geographical but population based. Almost half on all Newfoundlanders live here in St John's. When our sculpture friend from Twillingate wants to do serious shopping, he comes to the Costco at St. John's. We shopped at that Costco yesterday, and I think most Newfoundlanders were there also.

We are camping at Pippy Park, which is 5 minutes from downtown St.John's. It is a beautiful park within the city. Most of the sites are a little small for large 5th wheel trailers, and definitely tight for Norm and Ria’s big Class A.

We are looking forward to touring St. John's. The kids gave me a tour of St. John's for Father’s Day, so we have a 1/2 day guided tour arranged for Sunday morning. Thanks kids! Today is Glenna’s birthday. We headed downtown to find a nice place for a birthday party. We ended up at the Keg, overlooking the docks, on their rooftop patio, with Signal Hill in the background. Spectacular views, and a delicious fresh, whole, 2 pound,Trinity Bay lobster.
