|We had a great time visiting with Carl & Jackie in California & all too soon it was time to get on the road again. Thanks so much for your hospitality guys, we had a great time. I appreciate all of the family pics too Jackie. Hope to see you both again soon!
We arrived in Parker, Arizona late in the day & were not happy to learn that Buckskin State Park was all filled up. One of the risks you take when you don't have a reservation, especially in a snowbird area. We are usually just ahead of the crowd or just behind them but it didn't work out that way this time. Ah well, we just looked around a bit & decided to just camp overnight at the Blue Water Casino along with about 50 other RV'ers. We were far enough away from the Casino to avoid the traffic & noise and it worked out just fine. We stayed in and had a light dinner, watched a bit of TV & hit the sack early.
The following morning we moved down the road about 10 miles to the La Paz County Park. The host here Ted & his wife are super folks. Ted led us to the dump site & showed us where we could fill our fresh water tank, and it didn't take long before we were all set up. We'd read in Jim & Ellie Meacham's blog that the Serape Mexican Restaurant was good, so later that evening we decided to drive back into town for dinner. Our meal was delicious with large portions so I had enough leftovers for lunch another day. A quick stop at the Parker Wal-mart for a few provisions and we were ready to catch up with our e-mails and downloading our newest pics before bed.
This morning we drove a few short blocks to the La Paz swap meet held every Saturday. Larry found a few 'guy' things and we bought a new patio mat. Ours is 5 years old and wearing out. This one is a foot wider and a foot longer and was a good price so we are very pleased. Later that afternoon we grilled a couple of burgers and enjoyed our meal outside. Wow, the weather has been awesome. In the mid 70's, no wind and no rain.....Love it!
Around dusk we decided to drive into Lake Havasu City & check out the London Bridge. We've seen the bridge a few times before but we always enjoy taking a walk by it. Besides, we were having a great need for an ice cream cone, lol! There is a Trifty-Mart Ice Cream store off the main drag we found a couple of years ago & they have the best ice cream. Larry had Cherry Vanilla & I had Peach Cobbler. Guess which one was better? Mine of course!!! A perfect end to a wonderful day. We are so blessed.....
