|Woke up today and the sun was shining! So we headed down to a place called SouthBanks. It's a nice little area in the middle of the city. You can hop on a ferry, ride the Ferris wheel gondola, or lay on a man-made beach along a pool over looking the river. We opted for just a stroll through the area. Since parking was an issue here and ours had run out, we decided to head across the bridge into the downtown shopping sector. The hostel guy said it was a nice area to walk around and browse. And wouldn't you know it, we came across a market! On a Wednesday! We found some fresh food here, then carried on our way to Noosa.
Noosa is wonderful! It has great beaches and a beautiful national park.
We were quite fortunate, as we had really nice weather here for the most part. We spent the afternoon at the beach and then had supper at a pub overlooking the ocean. The next morning we decided to do a coastal hike through the national parks to some natural water pools we heard about. We were asking the info booth guy how to get there and if they were any good.. He told us that maybe if we used our imagination they would be! We decided to do the hike anyways as he said it was worth it, regardless. It was beautiful! We met lots of local surfers on the trail headed out in barefeet to find their spot for the day. It was amazing how old some of these guys were.. Impressive!
After we arrived back in town, we found a place serving daiquiris and coco cabanas (amazing drinks served in a coconut), so we hung ou here to awhile and had lunch. We then did some browsing, and then beach time again. Clint rented a surf board and caught a few waves! However, he didn't have a shirt on, so his chest got pretty scraped up and raw.
The next morning was also another beach day! It was so hot! We hung around Noosa for most of the day, then drove back to Brisbane to stay the night so we could catch our early flight to Melbourne!
