A large island & so many things to do! The tours arranged today were all 8 hrs to 10 hrs & most involved a lot of driving or riding to points of interest to see or do. Because Ellie is still feeling less than up to par and the heat is still very high, we decided to stay in & not go out, even to town on the shuttle. Therefore, I do not have an entry to discuss or tell you about things to experience while on Mauritius island, nor do I have too many photos other than the skyline, approach & harbor pictures as we entered Port Louis. With a population of over 200,000+ and many cities to visit, I'm sure there is so many things to see & do in the resort areas & surrounding islands that IF we stayed overnight & broke up the tours to 4-5 hr excursions, there would have been lots of tales & photos to share. There is not a lack of tourist opportunities & venues to see or helicopters, boats, buses or private cars to not have a wonderful experience while on Mauritius island. We decided to stay on board & enjoy the coolness of the cabin, rest & collect ourselves for future adventures.

As we shoved off the shores of Mauritius, we ran into a little choke-n-puke in the island of Voyagerville that had a one horse waterin' hole called Jimbo's Truck Stop (imagine that...all the way out here in the Indian Ocean, we find a little bit of "home" & that "good time feelin" to overcome the feelings of homesickness so many of the ship's World Cruisers have felt in over 3 months at sea!).

What an effort the staff & crew has done for the past 4 nights and how many of our fellow sailors have partook in the "truck stop" theme created for making those evenings more interesting & lively.

Tomorrow is Pointe Des Galets(Port Reunion), Reunion Island that is less than 200 miles away from Mauritius and about 1350 miles away from the continent of Africa & Richards Bay, our next port of call after Reunion.
