Good meal in the evening

We decided to head off to the coastal town of Valparaiso today as the reports the Lonely Planet lays down are quite good.

We had a bit of an experience getting to the Bus Terminal as we decided to go via the airport to check in to our Easter Island flights (to secure good seats).

Getting to the airport was uneventful but when we got a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal the driver decided to try to imprison us & try to take us to Valparaiso himself.

Then realising we were having non of it, tried to rip us off on the price to the bus station. Thankfully, we got out of the taxi before he had a chance to stop us & we paid him just a basic amount & legged it.

We went TurBus (yes the dirty word) to Valparaiso & suprisingly it was fine.

However, there is absolutely nothing that special about Valparaiso... it's just like a run down UK coastal town, without a beach & streets that have seen better days.

The only half interesting thing about the place are the numerous funiculars & very narrow streets.

We only spent about 3hrs there & decided to head back to Santiago.

Thankfully, this is our last day in mainland Chile as tomorrow we fly out to Easter Island.

One good thing though was we found a street with some half decent restaurants on them, no thanks to our hotel receptionist, & together with Nahli (I think we spelt it correctly), we finished the day off with a great meal.
