Kangaroos are their trademark

One of the the nice experience in travelling about is stay with folks that participate in the Harvest Host organization. We join by paying $45 per year an can stay "for free" at various locations (many wineries and farms). I this case we parked at The Hansen Family Dairy Farm. Seven generations of farmers have been here (since 1864). They run a very elaborate operation: Growing corn and alfalfa (the feed), maintaining 300 cows (no bulls allowed), and processing the milk into many different dairy products, and running two retail outlets and other distribution channels. We parked for free but bought tickets to their two hour tour of the facilities. Got to feed and milk the cows. Feed and pet the kangaroos. Very welcoming!!!
