Jane and her fish

Yes, Jane did hold the fish!

Jane & Ken on fishing boat

The fishing party

Ken's beautiful salmon

Wow, 4:45 am up to go on a 4 hr fishing trip on the Kenai River, I (Jane) don't remember doing that since I used to get up and go fishing with my dad! We met our guide, James and our boat mates, John & Pat from FL at Drifter's Lodge, we were on the water by 7:30 am, it was a beautiful sunny warm day, no wind. They out-fitted us with waders and water boots, just to protect us from the cold water when wading to get in and out of the boat, but we did not do any wading in the river while fishing, we stayed in the boat the whole time. Pat was the first to catch a fish, and it was a beautiful Dolly Varden (that's a very common type of sport fish here in AK), probably about 3 lbs., game on!! Jane caught 2 Dolly Varden, and Ken caught 1 Dolly and a beautiful Sockeye Salmon (probably about 5 or 6 lbs), hate to say it, but I cannot remember what John caught. We also picked a couple little Rainbow Trout out of the river before the morning was over. All fish were returned to the river alive & well. (We used single hook plugs for tackle)
