|We got up around 8:00 and after breakfast, we walked around the campground. Beautiful campground at Thorburn Lake with boating, swimming and hiking available. We talked with the lady at the office and she indicated that she had seen a cow moose and 2 calves right across TCH 1 from the campground yesterday in a bog. Although we have yet to see moose in Newfoundland, we know they are here. We left around 10:00am and drove through terrible fog and winds to get to Pippy's Park Campground in St Johns, arriving about 12:30pm. It is a great park right in a public park next to the city of St. Johns. We are within 5 miles of the airport and the harbor of St Johns. We will go to a visitor's center and probably Wal-mart this afternoon. We also finally got cell phone service back as we haven't had it since arriving in Newfoundland. It appears that AT & T is not available in all of Newfoundland except on the Avalon Peninsula which is where we are now. No pictures today.
