36 domed heads and the mass visible is 8 times the size of Uluru (which seemed pretty massive) and covers more than 8 sq miles. Ryan, our guide, gave us a brief geology lesson (much the same as on our other 2 tours...now I am finally getting the gist of it!) With a rainstorm just prior to our tour, we were not sure what to expect when we arrived at the start of the Walpa Gorge Walk-a 1.5 mile hike into the "V" between a couple of the big boulders.
On our return we were preparing for the Sounds of Silence dinner (an introduction to the Aboriginal culture with a traditional dance performance and dinner under the night sky) but found out due to predicted thunderstorms it was cancelled. Quite a let down but we settled for dinner in the Arnguli Grill where John and Chris feasted on the Australian platter of crocodile, emu, kangaroo and wallaby. Of all of them (I passed on the crocodile) the emu was my favorite but the wallaby was smoked and was also delicious.
