Merganzers - very entertaining.

Kingfisher

We arrived at our cottage in Sechelt. There was some concern (not by Larry!) that we wouldn't fit through the gate but it was a piece of cake! The rig dwarfed the cottage but we still were able to fit three vehicles in the yard. Aaron arrived that night. Kelly was still on the mainland because his football draft ran late. We had a nice visit with Aaron and he helped by climbing onto the roof of the RV and trimming some big branches. Maureen and Aaron went paddling in the kayaks for a while.

As you can see from the photos, there are SO many birds at the cottage. There was a big group of merganzers - they're really funny because all of a sudden the whole group skims across the water like they're jet-propelled. The turkey vulture was something we'd never seen in Sechelt before - we thought it was a young eagle at first but out came the binoculars.

Kelly arrived on Sunday but had to work for a few hours. We had a great roast beef and yorkshire pudding dinner Sunday - it had been awhile since we'd all been together and that was the best way we knew to celebrate!

Aaron went home on Monday. We came back to South Surrey on Wednesday for two nights. This completed our circle tour on BC Ferries. Then it was off to Vernon.
