Kansas City, Missouri, dead ahead...

A lovely sunset as we arrive back home...

Our final stop in this area was to visit downtown Kansas City, Missouri and then to cross the state line into Kansas. Kansas City, Kansas is just across the river. We'd planned to visit the Hallmark building but they were not open to the public today. We grabbed a quick bite of lunch at a deli before crossing the state line.

The first thing we noticed was the area was not as affluent as the one we had just seen across the river. We had no destination so we just drove around. We stumbled on a casino, a couple of beautiful churches, a nice courthouse and a Soldiers and Sailor's Memorial, also closed. We got out and walked a few blocks, then stopped in the casino to check it out. We were greeted by a security guard and chatted with him a bit. No pics allowed unfortunately as it was very nice. The banisters were beautiful as were the light fixtures.

Back in the truck we slowly drove a pretty, quiet neighborhood decorated for the Fall season. All too soon it was time to head for home as tomorrow we leave, headed South. We've changed our route a bit, next stop Branson/Springfield Missouri. See you there...
