We left Country Maples on August 19 and headed the short distance to Barry and Ann Marie's. They live in Cedar, just south of Nanaimo. Maureen worked with Ann Marie beginning in 1978 in Victoria. We also camped together and had a lot of fun. Maureen was Ann Marie's bridesmaid when she married Barry 27 years ago. Two years ago we went on a Shuswap houseboat with them. We parked in their driveway and were there when they arrived home from work! We stayed in their driveway until Thursday. In the meantime there was a shower on Tuesday night, there were wedding errands, and Larry had to find a sani-dump that could handle our RV.

On Thursday we went to the wedding venue - south of Duncan, down a long winding road. The site has a beautiful house with a man-made lake with trout in it and a diving platform. We parked the RV in a field, which was very wet, that had no power, water or sewer hookups. This was a new experience for us and we learned a lot about boondocking. Both families worked very hard to make the wedding a success, which it was. Kelly flew from Sechelt to Nanaimo with Pat and Steve, who had been visiting him for a few days. We picked him up and brought him to the wedding. Stacey, the bride, is a month younger than Kelly so he had known her for a long time. We met a lot of really nice people and had an excellent time.

On to Campbell River on the 24th.
