|Sorry for the late post but there was no cell service where we were last night. More on that later. We were underground in Carlsbad Caverns for 3 1/2 hours yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. The caverns are a National Park and we enjoyed it greatly. First we saw a movie about the caverns then took a 1 1/2 guided tour of the Kings Palace section of the caverns. Very informative and beautiful. After the tour we were on our own for the tour of the Big Room. WOW!!! Over 6 football fields could be housed in this massive room. It looked like we were in the scene of Lord of the Rings or some other fantasy world. The scenery was incredible 900 ft below the surface. All told we walked about 4 miles. After lunch in the rig we went a whole 40 miles to Guadalupe Mountains National Park. We found a nice spot in the parking lot. The best parking lot camping we have done. The scenery was breathtaking and we needed our winter garb again as we took a hike of a little more than a mile. No hookups but just $4 and just right for our self contained camper. I am writing this missive at a Wendy's in the Pilot Travel Center on I-10 in Texas. We have crossed into the Central Time Zone for the first time in probably 6 months. Enjoy the pics.
