Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Across the street from the Pizza Hut, pretty huh?

French Creek is running all along our route, it's on our right...

The edge of a backyard along this isolated road, pretty...

We liked the lighting playing on this hill...

And thought this was a pretty home, loved the trees...

Our trip went from heavily tree'd to wide open spaces...

We stumbled on the first public school here in the Black Hills...

An interesting bit of info for you...

Larry liked the sag on the ends...

Check out the trees growing out of the rocks, especially the pretty...

And one final shot of the view near our home, we love...

It was another very busy day. We are doing a ton of business as the Sturgis Rally winds down. I've worked 8 days straight and I'm looking forward to a day off. Fortunately, I'm still having fun meeting all of the interesting folks each day. Of course it helps that I'm working with my good friend Lou. She makes it a lot more fun.

I picked Larry up after work tonight and we dined at Pizza Hut. I had salad and wings and Larry shared the wings with a personal pan pizza. Very good! The one and only 'chain' anything we have here in Custer. (Oops, Larry says we have a Subway here too, I forgot!)

Afterward we took a drive for about 10 miles down a dirt/gravel road to get away for a bit. The scenery was beautiful and Onyx was in heaven barking at all of the horses, cows and deer we encountered along the way. The skies were beautiful as was the weather. I almost feel guilty continually mentioning it with so many of you suffering from heat and humidity. But you want me to be honest, right??? It is beautiful here in the hills each and every year. We highly recommend it as a summer destination. However, Larry says to quit telling you all about the hills, he doesn't want TOO much company!

We have plans to do a bit more exploring next week, as well as hiking, fishing and geocaching. So stay tuned!
