This post is actually two days of activity, at least for Larry. On Wednesday, Larry and Dick headed down to Bismark Lake to fish for the afternoon. Larry caught a total of 8 fish, 3 small perch and 5 trout. We catch and release, so we don't care how big they are. As long as they fight a bit, it's all good. They got a laugh that one of the perch wasn't much bigger than the lure!
Thursday Larry and I went back to the lake and caught 7 between us. 4 for him, 3 for me. But I caught more trout!!! We got back in time to unload the boat, shower and have dinner outdoors with Dick, Lou and Jim, a friend from Minnesota. Jim tents here for about two weeks every summer and the guys enjoy playing horseshoes and darts together. They play for thousands of dollars, play $$ of course. Good thing, we'd be in the poor house.
At 6:30pm we headed down for the last evening of music at the VFW. The Ramblin' Ranger's were there this evening. We love them. They sing a great mixed rendition of 'Over the Rainbow' & 'It's a Wonderful World', done Hawaiian style. It is awesome! Wish you could hear it. The weather was great, 75 degrees and no humidity. It's truly beautiful here right now.
Note: I found a touching, non-professional version of the mix you might enjoy, but you'll need a tissue! Just click this link: Somewhere Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World
The 70th Annual Sturgis motorcycle rally is in full swing and they couldn't ask for better riding conditions. I am working with Lou at the t-shirt store for nine straight days during rally. That should be interesting. I haven't had a job for awhile now and no schedule to speak of. It'll be good for me, right?? Seriously, it will be fun and I really enjoy chatting with folks. There will be folks from numerous states represented, I'm sure. I'll try to take a few pictures if I can, there are some awesome bikes in town!
