Silverton is a very western mining kind of town that plays on that for tourism dollars. It's an OK little town, but the main attraction to us is the surrounding area and that's why we're here and why we plan to stay here for another 2 1/2 weeks or so, depending on the weather. It's getting colder and colder each night, but the days are pleasant, even though we seem to be having monsoon like thunderstorms virtually every day. Today was an exception, however, and we were able to have our dinner down by the river. That's real special for both of us and we plan to have our breakfast there tomorrow morning if it's not too cold.

Lots of off road areas to explore all over this area.

We've been regularly walking the road out front of this area that we're camped in, and what a great walk that is. Great exercise and great scenery. We love this place!!!
