|We did a fair amount of driving yesterday and most of it very beautiful indeed. Our major activity was a National Monument we knew nothing about except it was on the map and on our way. We stopped into the Chiricahua National Monument in the middle of nowhere literally. But oh my was it beautiful. This is where Cochise and Geronimo later, lived. While Cochise was cordial to the original settlers he became more impatient as more came to take his land and battles took place. Geronimo was never a moderate and once he took over the Indians were at war. We packed a lunch and ate high above in the mountains and took in the beauty. We even had a personal tour of the Faraway Ranch which started as a homestead during the Indian times and progressed to a dude ranch as the estate grew. In fact, our tour guide was the camp host at a campground we stayed at in Idaho. Now THAT's a small world. We are enjoying our trip so much and thank you for taking time out of your day to follow us. Enjoy the picks.
