From Richmond we traveled a couple of hours north to visit the Navy Buddies over Memorial Day weekend. The first day we were tourists: taking the Metro to the Washington Mall with Al and Liz. We went to the Navy Memorial followed by lunch on Pennsylvania Avenue and then on to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. We were all impressed with that, even though we saw less than half of it. Well worth the effort. That evening the Bonds hosted a cook out at their house. On Sunday, another party. This time at the Chen's. Great to see everyone.
