My new bookcase, under window on left...

Lynne, Gary, Larry and me on the Needle's Hwy loop...

There are still a few white clouds around but it's getting darker...

This little guy was cute and fun to watch...

Guess it's time to move on, it's getting pretty dark...

Gary & Lynne decided to walk thru the tunnel...

Eye of the Needle...

Yup, that's what it is alright!

Back home in time for dinner...

Larry & Gary...

The guys are trying to make Larry's new retractable fishing net work!

Dick says it should be about this long!!!

Lynne & I put in our two cents worth too, LOL!

The resident buffalo here at the campground, we pass him every night...

We purchased a small bookcase in Rapid and Dick & Larry took 1 1/2" off each board to make it even narrower to fit in the small space we have for it. It now fits snugly under the window and will help eliminate a bit of book clutter. And we all know space and clutter can become a problem quickly in 400 sq ft!

Gary & Lynne arrived around noon today. You may remember that Larry & Gary went to high school together and have remained good friends for the past 50 years. They reside in Casa Grande, Az and we visited with them in May. They have been on vacation for the past few weeks making their way from Iowa, to Nebraska, then to South Dakota and finally Montana before making their way back home in a couple of more weeks. We were so glad they planned their trip to include spending a few days with us.

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch together and then decided to drive through the park and enjoy the Needle's Highway loop. It was beautiful for about 3/4 of the drive but the clouds moved in and we hit a light rain shower before arriving back home. Fortunately it didn't last long as we had a bbq planned for dinner. After dinner we took our nightly walk to the back of the property and then enjoyed a campfire at Dick & Lou's. Jack if you are reading this, we missed you guys. But I have to say, Dick did a mighty fine job with campfire duty! And Lou served German chocolate cake ala/mode for dessert to finish up a nice day. Tomorrow we're planning to visit the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs. We're so glad to have our friends here for a couple of days!
