We left Scottsbluff this morning (Wednesday)around 10:30 with cloudy threatening skies. Our route took us from Scottsbluff south on Hwy 71 to Interstate 80. Then west to Cheyenne, Wyoming. From there we picked up Interstate 25 and headed south into Colorado. We stopped at a rest area to check the weather forecast only to find that snow and icy conditions were expected throughout the entire state of Colorado. We decided to continue all the way to Raton, New Mexico.
We drove right through Denver in all that traffic but missed the rush hour. After nine hours on the road we arrived at the KOA in Raton, New Mexico around 7:30pm. We don't like arriving at an RV park in the dark but we couldn't help it this time. We traveled through four states in one day.
We were so tired, including the cats, that we decided to spend the next day resting up. Debbie said no more nine hour days. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures this day.
Bill went outside on Thursday evening and it was snowing a little. The next morning the truck had a nice white covering of snow but it melted as soon as the sun started shining on it.
