Off to South America - From Alaska's North to the Tip of South America travel blog

Ship Decorated

A nice day at sea on our way to Nicaragua. Each day we have a chance to go to two lectures that are very informative. One is given by a National Geographic Archeaologist for an hour on key spots in Central and South America. The other is by a very witty trip guide who has very good info on the area and general tidbits.

Today we learned that 50% of the passengers were US citizens. The other half are from a combination of mostly Asian countries, Australia, and Canada, plus a few other sprinkled in. Very international group.

We are getting our steps in just fine and the weather is very summer-like. We have 11 hours of daylight and are at 11% above the equator.

Tomorrow we head in to San Jose and Granada, Lake Nicaragua, Malaya Volcano National Park and an international shopping market. It is a full day excursion leaving a 6:45am and back by 7:30pm.

We are having a lovely time and Terry's health is okay (except the insomnia). More later ----also the ship decorated for the Mexican Day of the Dead -- that is what the picture is about.
