The Springs at night

On the drive to Pagosa Springs we passed the popular ski area of Wolf Creek. Pagosa is a Ute term for “boiling water” and refers to the town’s main attraction, the hot springs. We enjoyed the springs in a beautiful setting in the middle of town. “The Springs” has 18 soaking pools at the edge of the San Juan River. Each mineral bath is kept at a different temperature and an outdoor bar is there for all your drink needs.

The river runs along the back of the campground in a beautiful setting. This was definitely a place to return to.
