We made it out of Albuquerque today around 10am. We are finally on the road again! We took I-25 North out of Albuquerque heading for I-550. What a great four lane road 550 is. The road surfaces were smooth and well maintained and the views were amazing. We were real surprised by all the beauty along this highway. The scenery just kept changing and surprising us around every turn. We stopped in Bloomfield for lunch at Sonya's Cookin' USA. They advertised homemade pies. That always catches my eye and being that is was my birthday, I was excited about a slice of coconut cream pie...yum! No pie, but we split a great breakfast of pancakes, hash browns & a "everything" omelet. We shared it and it was more than enough for two and all for $7.29. I'm a cheap date aren't I?! We made a pit stop along I-160 to check out the Mesa Verde RV Resort. We are thinking of returning and spending a week so we can explore the greater Mesa Verde area. At 4:30 we arrived in Dolores at the Dolores River RV Resort. Len wasn't too happy when we arrived because someone was in our site #. Come to find out they had us coming in next week for that site even though they were expecting us today. Luckily they had another site available that worked for us. We may stay a couple nights ($31.50 + tax per night) here to explore Rt 145 N up thru Telluride and Placerville and back. I think we are going to have a great time exploring this area.

The Dutch Star ran better than it ever has on the drive today. Let's hope that continues for a while as I've spent about all the money that I want to spend on it.
