Today we took a different mode of transportation. We took the New Mexico Rail Runner Express train from West Albuquerque to Santa Fe. This train has been in operation for 3 years and has been a huge success. We talked to a lot of people that were commuters and others that just had business in Santa Fe for the day. Then there was the likes of us...tourist! What a great way to travel for a change. It was relaxing for both of us. It was 65 miles one way. The scenery was beautiful, the train was comfortable and it was on time. Best of all, it was an inexpensive way to get there. Round trip fare for Len $5.00, me $7.00. The best deal we have found in a while! We boarded the train at 7:14am southwest of Downtown Albuquerque and returned just before 6pm. We made a full day of it! The next post will be of our walk around Santa Fe.
