We are camped next to a very nice family from Las Vegas. They were telling us about Lava Hot Springs and how much they enjoyed it. This peaked the interest of the kids and they wanted to see a Hot Spring.
It's plenty hot outside...so let's take a ride and go over to the Hot Springs. It is definitely a tourist town. Made up of shops, restaurants, tube rentals, RV parks and many hotels.
It was something new for the kids. The springs range from 102 degrees to 112. We made the mistake of starting out at the hottest. The kids were ready to leave after about 3 minutes. We finally found the 'coolest' of them and eventually we could work our way through all of the pools.
After getting out we were relaxed/tired and hungry so we found a burger shop and had a late lunch before heading back.
The kids played Elvis songs so we would all stay awake and alert for the drive back to camp.
