Parked at Walmart in Del Rio, Texas

I left Bentsen Palm Village late this morning and arrived in Del Rio about 6:30pm. Immediately after arriving in the Walmart parking lot a security guard in an ATV stopped by. He asked me with a straight face if I thought this was a campground and said that they already know how much money we spend in the stores. I was getting a little concerned, and then he broke out in a smile and said that of course I could spend the night. He then had me follow him to a location where they put the overnite RV's which is in an area that has 24 hour security cameras pointed in our direction. They also patrol 24/7. He was very helpful and told me about a good restaurant within walking distance and where to get fuel before I leave in the morning. Very nice guy, and funny.

One of the first things that I did was to get the DataStorm up and working.

It was about 320 miles from Mission to Del Rio and was a very pleasant drive, mostly on two lane roads, which is what I prefer.

Tomorrow morning I plan to leave here pretty early and drive to the campground near Big Bend National Park. I'm really looking forward to exploring Big Bend NP.
