Greg's 2007 Odyssey travel blog

We were up early, packed up the coach and headed out to get some fuel. We were off about 9 AM.

The winds were intense today. The flags stood straight out along the way. They were mostly crosswinds but then became headwinds when we drove in the right direction. I was blown from the lane partly onto the shoulder a number of times. It was a long drive.

We stopped in Grand Prairie, AB, for a lunch and Sock's nature break and then got back on the road. We arrived in Dawson Creek at 3 PM. We checked in at the RV Park, set up the coach and I took a nap. I was really beat from fighting the wind.

The highway that we traveled was cut through the forest, which existed in all directions as far as the eye could see. It was spectacular. As we approached Dawson Creek, the terrain became ranch land and farm land. There were ranch animals everywhere. There were elk herds, like cattle, off to the side of the road in the fenced in fields.

We are here 2 days early. The orientation starts on Tuesday and we head out on Wednesday.
