Today as we waited for our oil pressure sensor part from Phoenix, I took the time to run into town to send somethings out at the post office and check out town. The Navajo Indian culture is very prevalent all around Gallup. Very beautiful art work & murals throughout town. This town must be a hub for the trains, as it has a lot of trains running right through it day and night. It isn't bothersome at night, you just make note of it and sleep on. I was looking for a good place to take a long walk, but didn't find a suitable place. I so need a good walk!

The El Rancho historical hotel was advertised all along I-40. I just had to make a stop and check it out. It was built in 1937 and was used by the many stars that filmed in the area. Ronald Reagan, Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn and Kirk Douglas were among the many autographed photos adorning the walls of the two story open lobby. There is a restaurant onsite that had wonderful aromas coming from it. The menu items were named after movie stars. The gift store/art gallery was amazing. It was a beautiful showcase of the many beautiful different types of Indian art work and crafts of the area and their people.

Len called to say the part has arrived and they are starting to work on it...time to get back to the Dutch Star and Len.

Just about dinner time the clouds got dark and we saw rain, barely measurable, but wetness all the same. We got excited since we haven't seen any rain the whole month of June. We had the pleasure of seeing a rainbow too. It was fun watching the kids that live on the street where we are parked enjoying the rain.
