Holland America Ship

Kroshel Wildlife Center Wolf

Karen feeding moose the hard way

Saw two interesting thing first thing this morning. The first was a cruise ship (pic) pulling into Port Haines and the second was a bald eagle landing in a tree about 100 feet from me! Very cool but I didn't get a picture of it. We were off around 8:30 am heading north of Haines about 26 miles for a visit to Kroschel Wildlife Center. The people there were great and were very knowledgable about nature or were pretty good bullshitters. Anyway it was interesting and entertaining. Karen got to see up close wolf, wolverine, fox, fox pups, mink and baby mink, reindeer, weasel, porkupine, Grizzley bear and got to feed the moose the hard way, haha. (pic) That took until noon. And on the way back we stopped and ate at the Fireweed restaurant, pretty good food, I had pasta and Karen had rockfish. (Tomorrow we are hoping to see some whales.)
