June 30 – Travel to Grand Teton National Park through Yellowstone NP

We chose to travel through Yellowstone NP to get to Grand Teton NP so that Kathleen could see the Teton Mountains from the north boundary. There were no herds of Bison or cars so our trip was pleasant. Unhitching was not so. Our hitch spring/disengage pin weld failed again. :(

Our KOA camp guide knew how to weld and took the hitch assembly to his shop, ground off the bad weld and re-welded it and put the assembly back together. We reinstalled it for our next jaunt.

After we setup, we traveled back north to the Moose Visitor’s Center to see the park video and ask about where best to view Moose. Obviously, the best viewing is along the Moose Road. We visited the road but it was too early. Moose frequent the streams at dusk and dawn.

We plan to rise early tomorrow, Thursday, to participate in the ranger walk/talk at Jenny Lake at 8:30.

Have a great day.
