Happy Hour

I am REALLY behind in my blogging. I am slowly catching up, but I don't want to get any more behind. So what have we been up to since our wonderful winter in Florida?

The month of May took us to JC's sister and brother-in-law's farm in Illinois and a great vacation to Aruba! Thank you Gerry & Kat. Gerry & JC played golf 17 out of 19 days!!! Kat and I shopped and gave money away to the casinos. Great time!

June took us to our legal domicile of Box Elder, South Dakota. We had to take care of our annual checkups and a few other business things.

June 18th found us at the FMCA Rally in Gillette, WY for a week. Then back to Rapid City for a few more appointments. Next, we returned to Gillette for another rally, the Escapade, for anther week. We spent the 4th of July with about 30 other Boomers.

The rest of July through August 18th we travelled through the parts of Wyoming we have never seen. This included Yellowstone and the Capital of Wyoming to name just a few.

The remainder of August and September we travelled Colorado. We revisited a few places and saw some new ones. We drove to the top of Pikes Peak on the bike. Wow! This was one of JC's bucket list items.

On our way from Coaldale, CO to Gunnison and we lost our airbags. We had to drive back to Canon City, 60 miles, with no shocks. That was probably the most miserable ride ever!. We had several issues and stayed in the parking lot at the Royal Gorge RV & Truck for 10.5 days. Great shop! If we had to breakdown, this was the place.

So now it is October and time for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! We arrived today. Tomorrow we start learning how to "crew". We are volunteers and, hopefully, we will earn a ride in a balloon. This balloon fiesta is domestically and internationally known. It is supposed to be the most spectacular event! We are with some of our Boomer friends. In fact, I believe we are expecting 27 rigs in our group. Should be fun.

So this is day one of the fiesta for us. The event starts on Saturday, Oct. 5th about 5:45 am. Hot air balloon flying starts REALLY early in the morning.

I will be continuing to catch up on old posts with a lot more detail of our travels. I usually record our travels by the week because we usually move about once a week. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
