The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

I think she is telling him its time to go.

Main Street Sturgis without motorcycles.

Yes, they do have a Hall Of Fame?

Everyone that rides a Harley has a shirt from here.

On to Deadwood SD.

Dropping into town.

Main Street or Casino Alley.

The Holiday Inn.

Sturgis is about 30 miles from our campsite. We took a drive to see if anything was happening. We were here in July 2010 with our grandsons and it was quiet. It was busy with tourist today, just not a lot of cycles. Labor day weekend is a big Mustang show. That is one of their last events of the season.

We took a different route back and stopped in Deadwood. The town attained notoriety for the murder of Wild Bill Hickok. Mount Moriah Cemetary is the resting place of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. Lots of less notable characters are also buried there. The town was build during the Gold Rush.

Besides the history of the town, there are several casinos. Larry and I don't we tell everyone. We had lunch at Tin Lizzy's which is casino. On the way out I stop at the ladies room. Larry is waiting by a nickel slot. He had a $5.00 bill burning a whole in his pocket. We left about 20 minutes later with $225.00. Our total investment was $8.00.

We have to put this behind us. We spent years telling everyone we had NO luck. Don't want to be eating our words. Of course $200 is not a killing.
