|We spent a little time this morning walking around historic downtown Fairbanks.
The picture of the bus in front of the bar is the view you get from the webcam
of the Daily New-Miner. http://www.newsminer.com/pages/arcticcam
I've been using this webcam to check the weather in Fairbanks for the past several months.
It was fun to find the place and put myself on the internet.
When we were in Anchorage a guy that asked questions about the bus was the wagon master of a RV caravan. He had been heading this tour of Alaska for the past 7 years and gave us lots of tips about where to visit. One of his suggestions was Chena Hot Springs Resort.
There are 107 reviews on the internet. Some good and some very bad. We decided to take a chance and drive the 56 miles out of Fairbanks and see for ourselves. It was well worth the drive. We saw 5 moose along the road(pictures later). Turns out this place is amazing. Someone has put a ton of money into a resort at the end of a 56 mile road in the middle of nowhere.
