Our departure from the Oasis was a totally different experience from the ordeal of getting onboard in Southampton. When we booked our flight home we were a bit worried that it was too early. It was a non stop flight, always our first choice. The next would have meant waiting in the airport until the afternoon. We knew it was possible if the planned arrival time would be the actual arrival time. The Oasis is a slow ship and the route back was not a straight line as the captain worked to avoid storms and high waves. We were scheduled to be in the first group to get off at 7am. By 7:28 we were in the taxi on the way to the airport. Luggage retrieval and processing through immigration and customs couldn't have been more efficient. The port and the airport are so close to one another, we could see the Oasis from the gate area. All went as planned and the totally full plane brought us back to temperatures as warm as those we left in Ft. Lauderdale. We hear that won't be the case much longer.
