Over to Stratford to meet the Great Aunties!
Mar 16, 2009
|Today we headed over to Stratford as we are meeting some of my rellies a bit later on today, but before we left we swung by a panel beaters to see if they could squeeze us in. They couldn't but the guy estimated the cost would be around $350....which we wasn't expecting but what can you do!!
Aaaaaaanyway we managed to find one in Stratford who could actually do it there and then! so we went for a wander around for an hour and when we got back it was looking as good as new! the only thing is you can see where the paint is slightly different but it was a million times better than we was expecting! AND the best part was he only charged us $20!! he said don't worry about it and enjoy the rest of our holidays! What a nice man!!!
After this we headed over to Auntie Sue and Uncle Charles's who live in Stratford. When we got here my other Auntie - Shirley (who I have met once before) was there and was later followed by her husband Don.
Sue cooked up an amazing vegetarian dinner followed by a delicious pudding and with full bellies (p.s. Auntie Sue can we have the recipe for the pie please!!) we spent the evening chatting and exchanging stories about our travels as it turns out they have all travelled and lived in lots of different places - and got up to quite a bit of mischief in the process!
We had the most amazing evening and it was really great to finally meet everyone. They were all so sweet and completely made us feel at home.
Rather kindly Sue and Charles offered us a bed for the night so we actually got to sleep in a real bed for the first time in aaaages!
We will defo be back to visit them again when we come back to NZ!!
A really lovely evening. Thanks guys ;)!!!!!
