Younger readers will not get this title reference but we are on Historic Route 66 and the TV show of the early 60s had two characters Tod and Buz riding in their 1961 Corvette across the country on Route 66. So we are gettin' our kicks thinking our big honkin' dually is actually a hot Corvette. Man what an interesting ride so far. We started at the last Arizona exit of I 40 just before crossing into California. The road was a little rough and as we got into the mountains the scenery was just breathtaking. There are a lot of very neat things to see along the route. We went through Oatman AZ which looked like a town from the 1800's with wild Burrows roaming the streets, and there were many of them. We continued through the mountains and came across a Gold Mine at the end of the shift and saw the men all coming out of the mine. We went through Kingman and headed towards Flagstaff but pulled up for the night in Seligman AZ. Can't wait to explore some of this small town. Hard to explain (you will need to see the pictures tomorrow) but they are still doing things up big on Route 66. I wonder what other neat stuff awaits us today. Enjoy the pics.
