Day 14 - El Camino

Maximum elevation = 830 m, minimum and starting elevation = 767m. Cold. 5 - 15 degrees.

Same temperature range as yesterday but totally different day. We started out with a cold morning, a bit of mist and then drizzle. It did bring the snails out - all sizes and colours! We wandered along the snail superhighway trying to avoid stepping on them. The only significant uphill today was before morning tea and we were enchanted by a couple of deer that pranced across our path. Over the climb, a cold wind kept us chilled.

We morning tea'd at Boadilla del Camino, sitting outside, the rain gone. Afterwards. we followed a canal to Fromista and crossed a lock into the village. We scored a few pilgrim points yelling out to a couple of pilgrims who missed the crossing and were a couple of hundred metres ahead.

We met up with Mu from Hungary at morning tea and she walked with us the rest of the day. Just before lunch, we met 2 ladies from Iceland. The 9 of us lunched together in a great bar in Población de Campos.

The afternoon was a slower wander along the Rio Ucieza and on to Villalcazar de Sirga. A little luxury tonight, we're staying in a hostel - private room and a bathtub!!
