Another nice visit in the southeast

First, I want to wish my new granddaughter, Alexia, a big Happy Birthday. She is 2 years old today. Wish we were there to celebrate your birthday with you!

On our way out of Biloxi we found regular gas for $2.96 a gallon and diesel for $3.58 a gallon. Yahoo! It has been a long time since we found these kind of prices.

We have spent the last 4 days at the Rainbow Plantation an Escapee Park in Summerdale, AL. We visited here several years ago when the park was nearly deserted.

This time folks were coming in for the winter. Happy Hour always brought something new. The group seems like a lot of fun. They have organized so many activities! Staying here over the winter for a couple of months may be something we will consider sometime in the future.

Fairhope is about 20 miles from the park. It is located on Mobile Bay. It is a very rich community. We really liked it, but know we could not afford to live there. It reminded me of those expensive neighborhoods in Calif. like Sausalito. Really nice to visit.

We traveled the scenic route along the bay all the way to Gulf Shores. Great ride. Stopped at the beach and revisited the beach towns.

I got another great haircut at Silhouettes. This is a salon advertised in the park brochure. I went there last visit. I got a great haircut both times. That is not easy in this life style.

It rained pretty good on Monday. We both got a walk in before it started. It got really cold last night.

This morning we woke up to a fierce cold winter wind. Brrr...what happened to fall? We leave for St. Andrews State Park at Panama City Beach, FL today. Unfortunately, we still won't be south. I sure hope it warms up a little. At least there will be no rain. :^)
