|Sat, 11 Jun: A very easy 113 mile journey from Tom Schaeffer's RV in Shoemakersville to Lewistown. Our route included US 61, I 78, I 81, US 22/US 322 to US 22BR. Weather was quite nice after overnite thunderstorms that dumped considerable rain and kept us awake with frequent thunder. But, by the time we were ready to leave it had stopped raining and we even got some sunshine as we proceeded west. The slide behaved itself throughout the drive with no evidence of creeping. We're keeping our fingers crossed that this time they got it...
We arrived at Waterside Campgrounds about 1130 and were settled into our shady site by noon. Lunch and then a quick auto trip to Bellefonte, our ultimate destination for this week. Bob is an avid stamp collector and Bellefonte is the home of the American Philatelic Society (APS). He wants to do some volunteering at the APS HQ and, in exchange for his "labors", they'll let us park in their lot.
Since we'll be boondocking (no electric, water, or sewer hookups) at APS and we just spent four days dry camping at Tom Schaeffer's RV, we needed to be at a full service RV park so we could dump our waste tanks and top off our fresh water. Hence our stop at Lewistown enroute to Bellefonte.
Our plans are to leave tomorrow (Sunday) morning and make the thirty-some mile drive to Bellefonte. We'll get settled into the parking lot while it's empty so we have our choice of locations.
