From the concrete jungle of West Sacramento to the lush green of northern California - what a pleasant drive today.
We took time to check out the northern-most rest stop in California, just before the Oregon border. Many, many years ago we stopped here for the very first time with our young brood (we think it was in 1980.) We were not used to the heat - it was cooking hot then, and the kids dashed for the fountains to cool themselves off. We had a quick lunch then, before heading south to Disneyland for our first visit.
Now, it was a lot cooler and a lot quieter. We spent some time enjoying the memories before climbing back in the rig and heading north for Oregon.
A few miles later, we once more joined another bunch of freeloaders at Wal-Mart RV in Grants Pass, Oregon.
