Our ranger buying sugar cane on the first day - don't know...

All smiles at the beginning

Yes. That is our porter wearing flip flops and carring the tent...

Moment at which Jeff paid for his own personal porter.

I think they were afraid of turning white.

Cooking during the break.

Can't really tell which way is up or down.

4000 meters

The world from 4200

The peak

Hello all. Just finished treking mt Elgon with Jeff from Australia. It was awsome. Ended up doing a four day trek in three days. Saw no animals, so that was pretty disapointing.

We started off with our Ranger, a porter who we shared and carring our own bags. Two hours into the trek, our ranger found himself a porter. 10 minutes later, Jeff started using the Rangers porter to carry his pack. 10 minutes later, our freaking porter got himself a porter.

I laughed so much at that. Kinda hard walking up an embankment while laughing. First day was grueling. 18 km and 2300 meter asent. Exept for 2-3, 5 meter decents, we walked up hill for 9 hours straight. I would do it again, no problem.

Anyway, we are spending christmas here in Jinja and heading out to the South Western most point of Uganda on the 26th.

Talk later.
