We arrived in town 15 minutes too late. On Saturdays, this capital closes at 2pm. We had crossed from the Central to the Eastern time zone and did not realize it. But, it was not all a loss.

Just down form the capital is Monument Circle with a fabulous structure and statuary, The Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Built in 1901, the structure is 284 ft tall. It has 331 steps. We took the elevator up and took the stairs down.

There also happened to be car show in the circle. We had a nice greek lunch at a restaurant just down the street from the capital and watched the cars parade by.

We will have to return to Indianapolis to see the capital. Still had a great day.
