After our wonderful morning at Atwater (see yesterdays log), we were off to points north. Due to our lolly-gagging around, we planned to get to Redding, but by the time we got to Sacramento (sounds like a western song, doesn't it) we were done in for the day.
After diligently looking for the 'perfect' RV site for the night using the Trailer Life directory, we chose an RV park in West Sacramento that promised a lot of things. Trouble was, they didn't deliver on most of them. Even the washrooms and showers were closed; thankfully we're self-contained so that doesn't really matter.
The promise of being really, really close to some wonderful bike trails by the Sacramento River was, let's say, somewhat exaggerated. Unless you want a three-mile bike ride in a run-down area just to get to the river. No thanks. We holed up in our RV and hightailed it out in the morning.
Win some, lose some.
