Walking the Dogs in Hot Springs KOA

KOA Campsite

Hot Spring in Downtown Hot Springs, AR - Water temperature is 140F...

October 25

We arrived in Hot Springs, Arkansas on Friday afternoon, after spending Thursday night in Canute, OK in a KOA.

Today, Saturday, we visited the Hot Springs National Park which includes a restored bath house and a plot of forest – sort of a let down after our previous national park visits. But , we are getting over colds and needed a rest day.

The water that bubbles out of the hillside in downtown Hot Springs entered the earth 4000 years ago and exits at about 140F. There are several steamy springs along a promenade walk up the hill from the 7 bath houses – two of which were open for business. We declined to soak. You can see the line of adjacent bath houses in the photo in this web site.

Tomorrow, we will drive to Lafayette, LA followed by Milton, FL and then home to Leesburg, FL on Tuesday.

Have a great week.
