Looking north from the ferry just off Horseshoe Bay

Overlooking Eagle Harbour from West Vancouver

Picture of a Picture

Vancouver at night from North Vancouver

Hi Again.

Yesterday we headed down the island to Nanaimo. Checked out a few stores and for supper we found a fabulous little restaurant, Sandy’s Ukrainian Kitchen, where they serve homemade perogies and other excellent food. It was just a short distance from our hotel - it doesn’t look like much of an eatery (inside or out) with only 3 tables – but the food is reasonably priced and fabulous! We will go back (if we lived in Nanaimo we’d probably gain too much weight going there a lot).

On our way across to Horseshoe Bay I took this photo of the mainland with the clouds hanging around. If I remember correctly part of the photo includes Bowen Island and other islands as we are getting close to the ferry terminal. The next photo was taken just a short distance from the Horseshoe Bay ferry in an area in West Vancouver called Caulfield. As you can see our friend has a wonderful view from her windows. This photo overlooks Eagle Harbour, Bowen Island, Eagle Island (I think) as well as the ferry every time it comes and goes. What a view!

As you can see I was trying to be ‘artsy’ with the next photo. I sat at the table looking at the painting and the lovely flowers she had on the table and I figured it would be a nice picture – so I took it! Later in the day we stopped by to visit a school friend of Peter’s in North Vancouver. They have known each other since they were ten years old – yes – almost 60 years – Wow! We had a great visit with her and her dad (who is 94). As we left we took this photo from her front steps overlooking downtown Vancouver at night. We were happy to get a few sunny days mixed between the rainy ones as we spent our days visiting friends and of course our regular visit to Ikea!

Till later, Peter & Connie
